Some basic knowledge about material mechanics testing machines
Core Tip: What we commonly refer to as testing machines nowadays actually refers to material testing machines, which are machines used to test the mechanical properties of various materials. Regardless of the type, they all share one common feature, that is, they are divided into detection sections and control sections.
What we commonly refer to as testing machines nowadays actually refers to material testing machines, which are used to test the mechanical properties of various materials. Our commonly used classification method is based on usage, such as universal tensile testing machines, geotextile testing machines, etc. Although there are different names, they are actually modifications based on universal machines. Not all are like this, there are also pressure testing machines, torsion testing machines, etc. Currently, the main control method is closed-loop control, and various tests such as stretching, compression, and bending are conducted. When using testing machines now, there are two terms: detection and control. However, detection and control are two different concepts, but they are also inseparable. Generally speaking, for a specific system under a specific test condition, it only controls a specific parameter, while the detection quantity usually has more than one, such as electrical tension which has load, displacement, and deformation detection links.
There are two types of grading when it comes to grading: detection grading and control grading. Among them, detection grading can improve the sensitivity of measurement and solve the problem of measuring small objects with large scales. Control grading is used to solve the problem of precise positioning and also to solve the problem of measurement accuracy. When grading, it is necessary to pay attention to the relationship between grading amplification and range grading, which are two different concepts, but they are also interrelated. Grading amplification refers to a local parameter of the sensor amplifier, while range grading refers to a characteristic parameter of the testing machine. For users, the latter has practical meaning, while the former does not require users to pay attention to.
The converter is an important component of the pressure testing machine, divided into D/A - digital-to-analog conversion and A/D - analog-to-digital conversion. Sensors are devices that convert various measured values into electrical signals. Common sensors include load sensing, deformation gauge, displacement sensor, pressure sensor, temperature sensor (thermocouple, thermoresistor, semiconductor temperature sensor), pressure difference sensor, force sensor, etc.
