Fully automatic hair dryer drying rate tester
XQ-231A Fully Automatic Hair Dryer Drying Rate Tester
I. Test Principle:
The fully automatic drying rate testing instrument uses high-precision temperature sensors. The testing principle for the drying rate of an electric hair dryer is to place a piece of cotton cloth (or hair) at a certain distance from the electric hair dryer outlet, start the electric hair dryer, and record the time it takes for the cotton cloth (or hair) to dry. Usually, we select the same humidity and distance conditions, test the drying time of different types of electric hair dryers for the same item, and thereby compare the drying rates.
II. Test Procedures:
1. Prepare the testing equipment
Prepare an electric hair dryer. Usually, we choose a hair dryer with a higher power output, as this will result in a faster drying rate. You also need a piece of cotton cloth or a strand of hair. The size of the cotton cloth should be relatively large, as the larger the error, the better. Hair after washing has a higher moisture content and is therefore a commonly used testing material.
2. Preparations before the test
Place the cotton fabric (or hair) at room temperature for a period of time to allow the moisture to evaporate and stabilize the moisture content. Before the test, expose the cotton fabric (or hair) to the air for approximately one minute, record the initial weight, and set the instrument time to t0.
3. Record the drying time
Place the test material 10 centimeters away from the electric hair dryer. Turn on the hair dryer and set it to low speed. Wait until the cotton cloth (or hair) is completely dry, then record the time when the hair dryer is turned off. Record the instrument time as t1.
4. Calculate the drying time Δt
Based on the recorded time data, the drying time Δt is calculated as t1 - t0.
5. Calculate the drying rate v
The drying rate of the target test material is v = Δm/Δt, where Δm represents the weight change of the test fabric (or hair) from its initial weight to the weight after drying.
